Is it just me, or does it look like the trainer has a whistle? LP, you don’t fool nobody. There have been numerous photos of Morgan taken after they declared she was deaf in which the trainers have been seen using whistles. So either they managed to invent a special whistle which somehow works on deaf animals,or they are full of shit.

This needs to be stopped. Someone needs to step in.

They’ve never released a captive orca. Keiko was the only exception.

I guess this guy also thinks prison rape is okay.

There have been other captive Cetaceans that were released besides Keiko. Three come to mind right away. JJ the grey whale and two BNDs Joe and Rosie. They were never show trained either.

Have they ever released a captive bred animal? Not to my knowledge…

One thing you learn is that the educators are a mixed bag. Some are very good at what they do, others not so much. People get things wrong, they make mistakes, and yes sometimes I think there could be improvements to the education system they have at SeaWorld (simple things like a concrete answer when a child asks “which one is Shamu?”. The amount of different answers I’ve heard…) but I definitely don’t think there’s any need to act like the person did in the post. If you believe they have said something wrong, politely question, discuss with or correct them.
”The whole time, she kept walking away from me.” suggests that the educator in question felt threatened by the behaviour of the poster. No matter your opinion on anything it’s not right to be threatening to a member of staff.

Obviously the educator felt threatened, but I don’t think the person intended to be threatening. I have also come across several blatant lies made by the educators.

We have to take art and music until we’re about 14, at which point we can drop some subjects in favour of others. Mathematics, Science, English, Citizenship and Religious Education are all compulsory though so we don’t raise too many idiots.

At my college, everyone is required to take at least one art course and/or music for their gen eds.

Enlighten us. What laws has Ingrid Visser broken during her career? She’s a scientists, not a showboater. In order to swim with wild orca in the US, she’d have to go through a shit ton of permit paperwork and licensing. And she’d damn well do it too, were she studying the orca of North America. Because that’s what good science requires - operating within the law. What Nancy Black did was not within the law, ergo it was poor science. Don’t throw the world’s most famous, perfectly law-abiding orca researcher under the boat with her because they’re smarter than you and oppose your beloved marine parks.

Nothing more needs to be said^^ Ingrid Visser isn’t a criminal.

I was looking through the Duisburg Zoo’s info n Dolphins, and I came across this quote:

Many pro-caps and marine parks try to downplay the intelligence of dolphins and whales. Even Brad Andrews from SeaWorld has claimed that orcas are “no more intelligent than my dog.” I guess it helps them sleep at night to think that they’re only imprisoning a “dog.”

Hell, I had a pro-cap email my work a few days after I was hired. They linked my blog and said that I am a cruel person who harasses people. I’m extremely reserved and laid back so my boss laughed at the email and shared my blog with everyone. But if this person had succeeded in getting me fired, the consequences would have been devastating to me and my family, as we needed that money to keep our home.

What’s worse is that pro-caps have encouraged suicidal thoughts in individuals who are already having a hard time. The consequences of those actions could be even more devastating. What are these people hoping to accomplish? Do they really want people to be jobless, homeless or dead? It’s scary to think about. And yes, they will stalk you online. I know that Carly/Stealth-Whale does.
